First Nations Climate Summit
Climate Week QLD 2 - 8 June 2019 provided a forum for leaders and sub-national governments to share ideas and build a community of action against climate change.
Activities throughout the week included a public program of arts, music, and panel discussions, a First Nations Summit, and climate leadership training with former US Vice President Al Gore and the Climate Reality Project.
Community groups, businesses, universities, not-for-profit groups, schools, landholders and individuals across Queensland were also invited to host climate action events during Climate Week.
The Queensland government funded a First Nations Climate Summit led by Leann who worked with a team that brought together First Nation people from across the state and the Torres Strait Islands to share knowledge about the environment and climate change resilience.
