RES Director Leann Wilson spent more than 30 years in management roles across Queensland and federal government as well as the not-for-profit sector prior to co-founding RES in 2013.
Key advice to decision-makers
Leann is a recognised reconciliation leader and woman of influence, with extensive networks owing to a career spanning community, government, not-for-profit, education and private enterprise.
She is frequently called on to provide key advice into policy, decision-making and strategic planning affecting First Nations communities.
Leann provides input on numerous boards and panels.
Cultural agility programs
RES and the Queensland Department of Natural Resources co-designed and regularly deliver the cultural agility program Building on the Strengths of Our Stories (BOTS) across Queensland.
Held over two days, BOTS helps participants gain an understanding of the intent of Queensland legislation in controlling First Nations People, as well as the impact and ongoing consequences.

Leann in collaboration with a First Nation team, co-designed and implemented the Inaugural First Nations Climate Summit sponserd by the Queensland Government
She led the consultation with First Nations communities throughout the state which informed the Queensland Government’s Healing Strategy.
