NAIDOC Week – The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy

NAIDOC WEEK 2025

National NAIDOC Week is celebrated across Australia from Sunday 6 July to Sunday 13 July 2025, honouring the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This annual event invites all Australians to engage with First Nations cultures, learn about our histories, and take part in celebrations recognising the oldest, continuous living cultures on Earth.

At Regional Economic Solutions, we take great pride in celebrating and paying tribute to the rich heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We especially honour our Elders from Bidjara, Kara-Kara, Darumbal, Ngunnawal, Mer Island, and Iningai— the lands where we live, work, and play. Their wisdom and traditions continue to inspire and guide future generations.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week, with the theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision, and Legacy.” It recognises the enduring resilience of First Nations cultures and the ongoing commitment to preserving tradition and identity. The National NAIDOC Committee also takes a significant step toward independence, embracing self-determination as a guiding principle for the future.

Each shared story, remembered act of resilience, and celebrated cultural practice strengthens a legacy that spans generations. As we commemorate this milestone, we look ahead to the next 50 years with hope and determination, ensuring NAIDOC remains a movement built on community-led vision and integrity.

From this strong foundation, the next generation will rise—rooted in the wisdom of Elders, inspired by a shared vision, and dedicated to fostering unity, respect, and self-determination. This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate not only an anniversary but a movement that continues to evolve, driven by the strength of our communities and the enduring legacy we pass on. Together, we honour the past and move forward with confidence, ensuring NAIDOC’s future remains vibrant and deeply connected to the people who shape it.
