NAIDOC Week 2024: Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud

2024 NAIDOC logo Keep the Fire Burning

This NAIDOC Week we honour the unyielding spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, celebrating the theme Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.  The fire symbolizes the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures, passed down through generations. It represents connection—to the land, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define us.

As we pay tribute to this flame, we ignite sparks of pride and unity, renewing our commitment to acknowledge, preserve, and share the cultural heritage that enriches our nation.

“Blak, Loud and Proud” calls us to unapologetically celebrate Indigenous identity, stand tall in our heritage, and assert our place in the modern world. It’s a call to reclaim narratives, amplify voices, and commit to justice and equality. Let’s listen, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue, fostering a society where Indigenous wisdom and contributions are truly valued.
Together, we can create a future where the stories, traditions, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are cherished, celebrating the oldest living culture in the world.
