Leann led a team to inform the Queensland Healing Strategy has arisen from Our Way; a shared strategy to ensure all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in Queensland grow up safe and cared for in family, community, and culture.
This report, framed by the wisdom of our Elders and knowledge holders and grounded in truth telling, research and evidence about healing, documents what healing means for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Queensland at this point in time.
Leann undertook all engagement with First Nations communities around Queensland. ‘What does healing mean to you?’ and ‘What makes your spirit feel good’ were the starting points for discussions in the Yarning Circle processes.
